We are looking for volunteer delivery drivers to who can commit to four hours a week as follows:
- Wednesdays at 3.30pm collect from Shooters Hill Depot & drop off at our Woolwich Welcome Centre and at 7pm Collect from Woolwich Welcome Centre and drop off at Shooters Hill Depot.
Essential Skills and requirements:
- Team player
- Friendly manner
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Delivery/collection drivers must have D1 endorsement on their licence to drive Ford Luton Van
- Ability to push & pull crates of donations which can sometimes be heavy
- Committed to the Foodbank’s mission
Tasks:
- Arrive at the Shooters Hill Depot between 3:30-4pm.
- Load the van up with the Woolwich Welcome Centre order which will be approximately15-20 stacks of crates.
- Tie down and secure the load.
- Drive from Shooters Hill Depot and park van at the Woolwich Welcome Centre, St Peters Church,103-105 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich, London SE18 6EF
- Help to unload the order.
- Wait for the session to finish (7pm) and load the returns back onto the van.
- Tie down and secure the load.
- Drive back to the Shooters Hill Depot and park the van, ensuring that it is locked up and secure. Unloading the van is not required.
Training:
- Role training will be provided to successful volunteers but they must be able to drive a Luton van and have D1 endorsement on their licence.
