Impact Days
Be part of something special; run your team-building volunteer day from our depot.
The collective efforts and hard work of your group will ensure people experiencing acute food insecurity in Greenwich do not go hungry.
What to expect
Under the guidance of Josh, our Depot Lead, no more than eight (ideally six) colleagues from your company or group will pack non-perishable foods and other essential items, which we then transport to our food distribution points or directly to people’s homes.
A typical volunteer day at our depot on Shooters Hill tends to run between 10.15am – 1.30pm. Expect to:
- learn more about our operation and the issue of food insecurity in Greenwich.
- enjoy an informal, busy few hours – on your feet (with breaks) and away from screens!
- leave our depot with the knowledge you have made a real difference.
So far this year, businesses across the Borough and beyond have already given hundreds of hours of time to help pack emergency food parcels from our depot. All of these parcels were received by Greenwich residents in need.
Double your Impact
In order to meet the ongoing demand for Greenwich Foodbank services, we ask for a financial donation from groups and companies who volunteer with us.
We also invite to you to Double your Impact by fundraising for us. If you raise funds equal to (or beyond!) your donation amount – within two months of your Impact Day taking place – you’ll be added to our leaderboard and be in with a chance of winning a prize!
Availability
From April 2026, Impact Days will run on Tuesdays. We can explore alternative an alternative day, should a Tuesday not be suitable for your group. You may enquire about booking more than one Impact Day.
