Deliveroo & Trussell Trust Partnership

13th June 2022

The Trussell Trust and Deliveroo have joined forces to support people facing hardship across the UK. We will be working together to support food banks in nations and regions across the UK with the aim of providing up to 2m meals and vital support for people facing hardship.

As the cost of living crisis continues to bite and families are facing the biggest income squeeze in a generation, the partnership will help to provide practical support to people who are struggling to make ends meet, during this challenging period and beyond.

For the first time Deliveroo customers across all four corners of the UK will be able to donate to charity by adding a round-up donation to their in-app food orders with all proceeds going to the Trussell Trust.

The funds raised will provide food banks with vital grants to help them best serve their community, as well as on-the ground support and resources to ensure they can continue to support people unable to afford the essentials during the challenging months ahead.

Greenwich Foodbank is very proud to feature in the promotional video for the partnership which can be viewed here.

Deliveroo employees will also support with sharing their time, skills and expertise with the Trussell Trust and food banks in their network in a volunteering programme for office staff. Deliveroo will also be working with some of its biggest grocery partners and major supermarket brands to help facilitate donations of food, as well as committing to donating food from its ‘Hop’ rapid grocery delivery sites to local Trussell Trust food banks where available.

“Everyone should be able to afford their own food, but as families face the biggest income squeeze in a generation, people are telling us they’re having to make impossible decisions between heating and eating and being forced to turn to food banks to feed themselves. Our new partnership with Deliveroo will help us support food banks to provide emergency food and in-food bank support to thousands of people in immediate crisis, while we work towards our long-term vision of a future where nobody needs to turn to charity to get by. We’re incredibly grateful to Deliveroo and their customers for their support.”

Emma Revie, chief executive at the Trussell Trust

Deliveroo customers across the country will be supporting food banks with the vital work they do in their communities, helping people through hardship, while working to create a future where everyone is free from hunger – for good.
