One of our brilliant volunteer drivers, Mark, recently shared a beautiful poem with us.
Through his role delivering food across the Borough, Mark sees first-hand the compassion, resilience and humanity that sits at the heart of Greenwich Foodbank.
Thank you Mark for putting your experiences into words and allowing us to share them with the wider volunteer community.

‘Work, wages, and the cost of living.
But living the cost of failing daily
Failings of the states, and failed further
By such cost we incur; who amongst
Will share each step to poverty
How high must be the price of our dignity
And for what price, is the fate of a nation
So count the cost,
If happiness shall be the measure
Yet we measure most by the cost of failure
Still – no fair answer steers this course
Fairness is often the last in the queue
But Greenwich Foodbank will have your back
If only just for a moment, or two.’
